Boat & Tram Trip
The boat trip is a quiet, peaceful ride along Pepper Creek, a creek that flows through a Florida hydric hammock. The boats leave every half hour (more often if we are very busy). The boat ride is about 20 minutes in duration and leaves from the main entrance on Highway 19. It moves along the creek to the boat docks at the West Entrance. On the way, you will see many native Florida plants, trees and vegetation. As you go down the waterway, you might also see wild birds and animals that live within the Park's boundaries. This could include deer, turkeys, raccoons, opossums, and of course, alligators. Many wild birds come and go from the park, and one never knows what one might see, Great Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets are frequent visitors to the waterway.

Boats going back to the Visitor Center on US 19 leave every 15 minutes starting at 9:15 am., weather permitting. But don't worry if you miss the boat -- we have a tram that makes the trip every 15 minutes.
