Located on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Homosassa Springs is easy to find. It is located in Homosassa Springs just south of Crystal River on Florida's "Nature Coast." The park is the perfect 1-day stop for any vacation or field trip, and has much to offer. Learn about Florida's gentle giants, the Florida manatee, or Florida panthers. Spend some time in Education Center and museum where you can visit the resident two headed turtle. You can enjoy quiet walks along nature trails and walk underwater to view native fish and manatees. Stop, slow down, and enjoy one of the most popular state parks in Florida.
Travel Plans
The Visitor Center and main entrance is located on U.S. Highway 19 in Homosassa Springs about 75 miles North of Tampa / St. Petersburg.

From Ocala, it is about a one-hour trip and from Gainesville, its about an hour-and-a-half trip. If you'rr traveling on I-75 or the Florida Turnpike, you are only about 35 miles from the Park at the Wildwood exit.

The main building on U.S. 19 includes our ticket counter, a Tourist Resource center, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's Manatee Education Center, Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission's Migratory Bird exhibit, a working replica of the Mullet train in old Homosassa.

Boat docks, State of Elegance gift shop and restrooms are also at the Visitor's Center.

West Entrance
The West Entrance into the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park is located on Fish Bowl Drive, and can be reached via U.S. Highway 19 to County Road 490 (Halls River Road). Go about 1 mile to Fish Bowl Drive, then left a short distance to the Park. The West Entrance leads to the main spring and park attractions.
